Hot Off The Historic Schaefferstown Press:
Authentic Re-created Mugs:
Found on-site in one of our archiological dig sites, these mugs are hand-made by Jeff White of Lebanon. Believed to have been originally crafted in the late 1800's, this unique mug features red flowers with green leaves and bluebells. This is a significant find, as blue paint was not common during this time period. Imperfections can be found in the reproductions, however they are meant to be there: we wanted the new mugs to mirror the original as best as possible. The original mug has been reproduced and and are available with a $50 donation to HSI.

Annual Cherry Fair & Early American Craft Show:
Saturday June 28, 2008
10:00 am until 5:00 pm
Mark your calendars NOW for the annual Cherry Fair at the Alexander Schaeffer Farm. The day will be as delightful as ever. Where else can you come with your family to learn about our local history and have a great time?! There will be lots of great food and cherry goodies to eat, cherry pie eating and pitting contests, the Sit-&-Spit, cake walks, a family corner, a pig roast, garden and house tours, demonstrations and crafters, a raffle drawing, horse wagon rides, and saw mill demonstrations. Our apprentices will be there and we will be baking, making candy and candles, and many more crafts. The Marini Family will be demonstrating their beautiful harps on the grounds and also performing a stage show. We are excited about having this talented group back this year, along with the violin maker, and wheelwright shop, the spinners, and many others! Spread the word and come out to see the farm alive in our best festival to date.
